The Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) process combines plastic injection moulding and powder metallurgy, offering greater design flexibility for shaping metals such as stainless steel, titanium and copper. The process begins with the creation of a feedstock comprising fine metal powders mixed with thermoplastic and wax binders, which is then injected into a mould to form a "green" component. After debinding to remove the binders, the component undergoes sintering at high temperatures to achieve its final strength and geometry, resulting in highly precise, complex components with reduced production costs.
